Jonah at play
Jonah does play with toys, but mostly he plays with furniture (and ropes, which we've seen in an earlier post). Almost every day he moves the "furniture" around in the room - the kitchenette, the basketball hoop, rocking chair, baby station. He positions them carefully (yes, carefully! He doesn't just drop them around haphazardly.) to make a trap. Or sometimes it's a gate or a fort. Sometimes it's a playground and they slide down the basketball hoop and the kitchenette.
It's a MIracle!
When the kids went outside today, they came running back in crying, "Mom! Come quick! You gotta see this! It's a MIRACLE!"
A miracle? Yes, spiderwebs covering a bush are a miracle to my adorable children who have been begging me to get out more halloween decorations and put fake cobwebs on the bushes like the neighbors have done. They said they had even cleaned off the bushes the day before with a stick, and now it is covered. So this is indeed, a true miracle!

Jonah and Ropes - they go together
Jonah always seems to find ropes. Or shoelaces. Or hair ribbons. Or jump ropes. Anything he can tie knots in. And he ties them everywhere around the house. His favorite place to tie ropes is onto the banister. Usually he ties them zig-zagging across the stairway from the banister to the railing and back again. He says it's a trap. But since I can't get through without spending 10 minutes untie-ing all his tiny knots, I had to make a rule about no ropes across the stairway.
So his new favorite thing to do is tie one end of a rope on the banister, and use it as a swing (as pictured above). They must be good enough knots, because it holds alright. He has also tied a sheet from his bed post to the crib post and used it as a hammock. Jonah is talented!
Yesterday Jonah was sitting on his Dad's lap, and they were facing each other. They were just talking about their day. Jonah was playing with Dad's sweatshirt hood strings. Ezra didn't think anything about it until later, when he went to take his sweatshirt off. He realized the strings were tied in about 20 little knots!
