Mud Pies

We've been enjoying the unusually warm weather. Spring sunshine means picnics on the porch:
And of course mud pies:
Right when the snow melted it created mud pits. The sand box was a mud pit. The kids sculpted in it and made a castle with a mote and drawbridge. The garden was also a huge mud pit that they marched through and dug in. With the mud they also sculpted rocks which they set out to dry and harden.
After all this we had to ban kids from mud for a few days to let the sun dry things up a bit and give Mom a break from mud and dirt creeping into the house.

I think I always view projects on a scale of how much work they will be to clean up. This one scores a 10! You are a wonderful mother to let them have fun for awhile. :)
