Family Vacation, June 2012
It was kind of a last minute decision to leave a day early, since Jennifer just had her baby! So that day was spent putting new tires on the van, packing, taking Annabelle to piano lessons, picking up Jonah from cub scout day camp, trying to get the old bike rack off the top of the van to add the new car top luggage carrier. We got a late start.
We stopped in Des Moines, where Emmeline met us to take Izzy. She gave us big bags FULL of snack food!
With our late start, we didn't arrive in Kansas until nearly 2 am. Dad (Grandpa Slaugh) met us in Basehor. In the morning Dad cooked us breakfast. After breakfast we took off right away to the hospital in Lawrence. The Hsu boys met us there.
Everyone wanted a turn holding baby Lily. She is so tiny and cute!
The 3 little boys - Oliver, Finn and Evan, climbed around and jumped up and off the couch and chairs. They had fun copying each other's movements.
We were on the road by 10 am, heading out to Utah!
