Peru Day 5: Arrival in Cusco

We were back in Lima only for one night. This morning we took a small flight to Cusco, a city in the mountains. Elevation 11,200 feet. It is very picturesque here. Very old stone buildings, skinny cobblestone streets, artisans selling their paintings, crafts, jewelry, everywhere. They are a bit more aggressive here about trying to get you to buy. But very nice, too.
Weather was a bit warmer, but not hot.

We enjoyed beautiful sunshine, but rain can come up quickly.

Ezra promptly bought a hat for me since I was already burned from the day before. Because of the high altitude, we were advised to take it easy today and drink a lot.

We found a lovely open air restaurant to sit and enjoy the ambience. An old man is sitting right near me playing a colorful harp-like instrument. We had ceviche again (it's growing on me) fire roasted pizza with alpaca ham, and Guinea pig!

So proud of myself for eating raw fish. I like the cilantro-lime flavor. No fishiness flavor at all. Ceviche is a typical Peruvian dish.

We had to try guinea pig because we learned that guinea pig is a traditional Peruvian dish, especially here in Cusco.
We relaxed the rest of the day.
