Spring in the Woods

We enjoyed an afternoon in the woods. The kids were sure excited to run around and explore.

Jonah climbed into the trees, of course. He spent the first 15 minutes up a tree. A dead log was leaning against the tree, and Jonah used a stick to bust open the log. I'm sure he would have stayed and hour if we had let him.
Grace was just adorable skipping around and singing along the way.
Annabelle created games for everyone to play (like, "Hey, let's play house! This can be the kitchen, this is your bed, you can be the daughter and I'm the mother...).
Olivia just tries to keep up with everyone else, and do everything everyone else does.
And Finn seemed simply happy to be outside. He doesn't get out much.
Here is one more picture of Finn, because babies are so cute! And to showcase his two teeth on the bottom:

Mud Pies

We've been enjoying the unusually warm weather. Spring sunshine means picnics on the porch:
And of course mud pies:
Right when the snow melted it created mud pits. The sand box was a mud pit. The kids sculpted in it and made a castle with a mote and drawbridge. The garden was also a huge mud pit that they marched through and dug in. With the mud they also sculpted rocks which they set out to dry and harden.
After all this we had to ban kids from mud for a few days to let the sun dry things up a bit and give Mom a break from mud and dirt creeping into the house.

Sticky

One morning I sat down to read some magazines, ignoring everything else for a few minutes. When I finished, I found Olivia like this:
Notice the droplets of syrup on her hair? I'm sure you figured it out. She was on the table, she had poured syrup into the pan and was licking the pan full of syrup!
Here is the video clip. Sticky!

Everyday Life

Grace's beautiful coloring and Olivia's beautiful scribbling:
Grace yells out when Olivia colors on Grace's picture:
Does Izzy look comfortable? She does this often. Maybe we should get her a dog bed.
